A controversial project proposed for Belleville is still undergoing a review by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
The ministry is undertaking a technical review and also reviewing public comments on the proposal by Astoria Organics to build a composting facility on Philipston Road in Thurlow ward.
Spokesperson Kate Jordan says there are ongoing talks with the company as well.
Many residents in the area oppose the plan, and the city has concerns about the effect of heavy trucks on the condition of the roadway.
If the project goes ahead it could create up to 15 jobs in the city.
