Quinte West is open to green energy… they just want some control over it.
Council heard last night (MON) from a concerned citizen’s group about a proposed solar panel installation in Pine Acres.
Mayor John Williams says it’s important the municipality have some say in where the panels are located.
Williams says the property owner in Pine Acres is not doing anything wrong… and the municipality has no jurisdiction in the matter.
Williams says council has already written to Association of Municipalties of Ontario on the matter of the Green Energy Act.
The mayor is calling on concerned citizens to write or speak to their local Members of Provincial Parliament.
