The land is being cleared for two big solar panel projects in Prince Edward County.
Northland Power received final approvals from the province for two 10 MW solar installations on Burr Rd., near highway 62, in the County.
Manager of Solar Development for Northland, Mike Lord, says they hope to have the projects running in the spring of next year.
He says they shouldn’t bother the residents living nearby.
Northland and builders, Aecon, are still working on finalizing building permits with Prince Edward County before construction can begin.
When finished, the solar farms will be able to generate enough green power to light up a total of 2600 houses.
