The trucks might look different, the collection will be the same.
The City of Quinte West has taken on an agreement with a new company for garbage collection in the municipality stating August 3.
Environmental 360 Solutions (E360S) was the contract winner after a tender with the City of Belleville was put out earlier this year.
New neon yellow trucks are the only difference residents should expect in their service.
Collection schedules, bag tags and all other requirements will remain the same.
Waste pick-up may occur at different times of day than residents are used to, so all waste should be placed at curbside the night before collection or by 7 a.m. the morning of collection.
The company from Pickering will also collect organic waste.
E360S will process organic waste at their facility on Phillipston Rd. in Thurlow. Garbage will be taken to landfills in Niagara Falls and north of Cornwall.
E360S was in Quinte West on July 23 for a photo op with Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison, Councillor Al DeWitt, Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuck, E360S Founder and CEO Danny Ardellini and E360S shareholder, former NHL defenceman Paul Coffey, local manager Scott Scaletta and City Staff.
