Temperatures across the Quinte region in June were on par with the historical averages while the area received a little more precipitation than usual.
CFB Trenton’s Weather Office reports the average high for the last month was 23.6 degrees Celsius which is the same as the historical average for the region.
The average low temperature for June was 12.5 degrees Celsius, just slightly above the historical average of 12.3.
Eighty-five millimetres of rain fell last month, slightly above the 78.3 millimetres the weather office says is typcial for June.
Across Ontario, Environment Canada reports temperatures for the month of June were within one degree (Celsius) of normal for the vast majority of the province.
The Quinte region’s higher-than-average precipitation last month bucked the trend of many other parts of the province, particularly across northwestern, northeastern and southwestern Ontario which experienced a very dry month.
Some of those areas received less than 50% of the normal June precipitation.
Environment Canada is anticipating cooler than normal temperatures for the first half of July before a switch back to seasonal for the latter half.
Near normal precipitation is expected through at least the first half of the month.
