Prince Edward County’s mulch giveaway program is continuing Saturdays at the South Marysburgh landfill.
The County receives a large amount of brush each year from its residents, which is converted to mulch and provided to residents at no cost.
The program is designed to reduce disposal costs, improve waste diversion through beneficial re-use, and to provide residents with a beneficial mulch product.
Mulch will be available every Saturday at the South Marysburgh landfill (1132 Old Milford Road) during regular hours of operation (8 am – 4 pm), while supplies last.
The program is a self-serve service for residents. Those who wish to participate will need to bring their own supplies for collecting and transporting the mulch (heavy or motorized equipment is not permitted).
