May is a busy month for the Quinte Field Naturalists (QFN)Association.
Their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 5 will feature Karrin Broadhurst as the guest speaker.
Having worked for many organizations, including federal and provincial environmental agencies, Broadhurst is now focused on environmental activism.
The meeting begins a 7 p.m. at Maranatha Church, 100 College St. West, Belleville.
QFN’s annual fundraising dinner is coming up Wednesday May 14 at Emmanuel United Church, 458 Ashley Street, Foxboro.
The evening will include speaker Steve Burrows and author and birder behind the best-selling Birder Murder Mystery series.
Tickets are $40 and include a buffet dinner and silent auction and can be purchased at QFN meetings or by contacting Nancy Stevenson

The annual plant sale is Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m to noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church parking lot at the corner of Herchimer Avenue and Victoria Avenue.
Annuals, perennials, wildflowers and vegetables will be available for purchase and a master gardener will be on site to answer gardening questions.
One hundred per cent of proceeds will be invested in tree planting initiatives.
