This won’t come as a surprise to anyone.
The month of July was hot and dry.
The brown lawns and stunted corn tell the story.
July’s average high temperature was over 2 degrees Celsius higher than the historical average at almost 29 degrees.
And as far as rain is concerned, less than half the average amount fell last month at 25 mm with the heaviest rain totalling a less-than-impressive 6.6 mm.
The average rainfall over the years is 69 mm.
This follows a warmer and drier-than-usual month of June.
Hay, straw, and wheat crops have been good but corn, soybeans and other veggies not so much.
