Prince Edward County Council voted to approve motions to give their support to two solar projects in the region.
The first solar project to receive support from the county was the Elmbrook Agrivoltaics Solar Project at 1867 Highway 49.
This project proposes to co-locate solar panels that will generate up to 22 MWac, allowing it to accommodate agriculture uses on the same land within the county.
Prince Edward Solar 1 Solar Project at 772 Clarke Road is the other project that received support from council.
This joint venture between Alectra Energy Solutions and Convergent Energy and Power proposes to locate solar panels that will generate up to 15 MW on the subject lands.
There is no financial impact to the county from either of the municipal support resolutions.
