A deepening drought in Ontario has pushed another local conservation authority to say its water supply may fail to meet demand in some areas.
The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has declared a level three low water condition and is asking people to cut back on their water use by 30 per cent.
It is the sixth conservation authority in the province under a level three low water declaration, signalling a high likelihood of
drought and a possible failure to meet demand.
Quinte Conservation declared a level three condition on September 3.
The national drought monitor suggests large parts of southern and eastern Ontario are under moderate to severe drought, with one patch of extreme drought also showing up as of the end of August.
Lower Trent Conservation declared a level two low water condition on Thursday, asking residents, businesses, industries, and municipalities to voluntarily reduce their water use by 20-per cent.
