New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu says former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will visit the city next week for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Their visits follow that of President Barack Obama, who is coming Thursday.
On Friday, Bush will go to a school where he marked the hurricane’s first anniversary. He also will go to Gulfport, Mississippi, for an event thanking first responders.
Clinton will visit on Saturday, the anniversary of the hurricane’s landfall, and speak at the city’s main commemoration.
The White House has said Obama will meet Thursday with residents of several neighbourhoods who have rebuilt their lives since the hurricane hit in 2005.
