White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters today that U-S President Donald Trump intends to favour energy projects which create job growth.
Spicer — who was fielding questions at his first full news conference — would not say specifically whether Trump would move ahead on the TransCanada Keystone X-L pipeline.
That project was rejected by former president Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, the United States’ top public health agency says it has cancelled a conference next month on climate change and health — but it isn’t saying why publicly.
A co-sponsor says he was told by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention that the agency was worried how the conference would be viewed by the Trump administration.
