It was another successful year for the ever-popular Quinte Trash Bash.
The 17th annual event was fittingly held on April 22,2017 – Earth Day.
Citizens within the Belleville, Quinte West, Prince Edward County and Tyendinaga Territory communities were encouraged to participate in the event including families, schools, companies and various programs and organizations.
More than 1,500 volunteers within those municipalities came together filling seven large dumpsters with trash and 10 recycling carts with recyclable materials.
Several different supplies were also available to the public in Belleville’s downtown Market Square such as: rubber gloves, industrial trash bags and a map of the City to guide people along their eco-friendly journey.
Overall with the efforts of each participant, everyone was able to take a big step forward in improving the Belleville “green scene.” Making an environmental impact in the local community can be challenging in the beginning, but when each person comes together to work toward the same cause – the outcome is extremely rewarding.
