It’s Thanksgiving weekend… and local food banks are well into their holiday food-drives… and the Ontario association of food banks is bringing a fresh donation idea to Belleville today.
The province-wide organization will have a booth set up at the Farmer’s Market to promote the “Buy Local, Share Local” program.
The program encourages people to buy locally grown food… to donate to local food banks… helping to support area farmers.. as well as those who need food this holiday weekend.
An R-B-C representative will also present Gleaner’s Food Bank with a cheque… as part of the banks 40 thousand dollar commitment to the program across the province.
The Farmer’s Market is open from 7am-6pm in Belleville’s Market Square today.
