The Hastings County Finance, Property and Personnel Committee is recommending to county council that the contract to install EV chargers at Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft be awarded to Morden Engineering.
The price of the contract is $400,000 plus HST.
It comes in less than budgeted by the county, with staff having planned for $300,000 being funded through the province’s EV ChargeOn program and an additional $150,000 coming from reserves to cover additional costs of the design and installation.
As part of an agreement with the Ministry of Transportation, there are plans to install four Level 3 electric vehicle fast charging ports (50-99kW) at Centennial Manor.
A report to council states that Morden Engineering is already engaged on-site.
Estimates for completing installations of the chargers range from fall/winter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026.
