The Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory’s Spring Birding Festival is a week away.
One of organization’s three signature events, the festival is a special opportunity to celebrate the return of the birds and the promise of spring.
Set against the background of peak spring migration and the natural beauty of Prince Edward Point, The Spring Birding Festival offers a unique opportunity for bird lovers of all ages, identities, and of diverse backgrounds to share knowledge and find inspiration in the arrival of the birds.
Participants can expect guided walks, interesting speakers presenting on diverse topics, interactive activities for kids and families, and of course our popular banding demonstrations. PEPtBO is actively addressing barriers to participation to ensure that the Spring Birding Festival is accessible to all.

Many of the Lighthouse Trail walks are already sold out.
In addition to the guided bird walks, there will be a wide variety of drop in talks. Participants are invited to observe bird-banding demonstrations and to engage in interactive activities designed especially for kids.
The group is excited to announce a dedicated youth day at this year’s Festival. With support from the Alva Foundation, they are busing a group of local students to Prince Edward Point to experience nature connection and learn about the role of bird research in bird and habitat conservation.
The guided walks and workshops are ticketed so you need to register, but the demonstrations, talks, and other events are free for all. (Donations welcome!)
