After a successful inaugural year in 2025, South Shore Fest is back on June 13 at Mariners’ Park in Milford.
Hosted by the South Shore Joint initiative, the event is a free family friendly Eco-festival celebrating the outdoors.

Prince Edward County’s early‑summer celebration returns with a full day of discovery, learning, and local spirit. Some events require registration!
✨ 9 AM to 2 PM – Explore & Learn
- Wander through interactive displays from leading environmental groups: Friends of Sandbanks, Nature Canada, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Prince Edward County Field Naturalists, Prince Edward Heritage Conservancy, Quinte Field Naturalists, Royal Astronomical Society of Canada – Belleville, Sandbanks Provincial Park, South Shore Joint Initiative, South Shore Footpath Project, West Lake Community Association.
- Visit and learn about the Miyawaki forest adjacent to the Fort Kente reproduction.

🐾 10:30 AM – Giants & Giants-in-Disguise: The County’s Wildest Wildlife Surprises – presentation by Terry Sprague – Prepare to look at Prince Edward County’s wildlife in a whole new way! Join legendary local naturalist Terry Sprague for an engaging, family-friendly talk exploring the big and little surprises hidden in our ecosystem. Using unique local specimens—including a rare Canada lynx and a tiny pygmy shrew—Terry will reveal how the grandest predators and the smallest mammals both shape our environment. Learn more…
🐦 10 AM to 2 PM – Wild Thing Program
- Let the kids dive into hands‑on displays and creative crafts in the children’s tent with Wild Thing educator, Cheryl Chapman.
- Walk the South Shore at Mariners Park. Follow a meandering path with stops describing each of the special and unique places in the SSJI South Shore Map.
🍔 Eat, Relax & Enjoy
- Grab a snack from Oak Bluff Arts.
- Savour lunch from PEC’s favourite Big Mike’s Barbeque in the picnic area (while quantities last).
🎶 Noon to 2 PM – Lighthouse Stage – music by Reggie Duo (Mario Panacci & Ruth Dwight), Kyra and Tully and Macartney Mulridge.
Local PEC musicians will be sharing their songs of love and life for everyone – songs can’t change the world but they can invite us to change towards better ways and days.

Return at 9 PM for a spectacular laser‑guided Star Show with the Royal Astronomical Society—an unforgettable way to end your day under the South Shore sky. ✨
