Lower Trent Conservation and the Bay of Quinte Remedial Action Plan have joined to create a webinar to teach resident how to build a rain garden.
A rain garden not only improves your home’s curb appeal but it creates a beautiful and unique garden that provides a habitat for butterflies, bees, and birds, introduces native plants to your landscape and filters pollutants out of stormwater runoff.
The webinar will walk you through how to choose the correct site and size for your garden for your property through to the final stage of selecting native plants that will thrive in your rain garden.
As an incentive, there is a grant of up to $500 towards the purchase of native plants, soil, compost, gravel, and mulch to establish a functioning rain garden. To be eligible you need to live in Belleville, Quinte West, Napanee, Deseronto, or Picton.
