Just ahead of Earth Day, the City of Belleville’s Glanmore National Historic Site is hosting Cultivating a Historic Landscape – an informative presentation to inspire sustainable care for the earth through gardening and land stewardship.
On Saturday, April 20, landscape architect Victoria Taylor will talk about how heritage, community and landscape stewardship play a role in the restoration of the gardens around Glanmore and provide inspiration you can apply to your own gardens.
Taylor is a landscape architect and proprietor of VTLA Studio, a collaborative, creative design studio based in Prince Edward County that works to reinterpret and add new meaning to our relationship to land and place through the design of built and living forms.
She holds a Master of Environmental Studies from York University, a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto, and brings a wide range of experience and knowledge to her presentation.
The Cultivating a Historic Landscape presentation will take place at Glanmore National Historic Site (257 Bridge St. East) on April 20 at 2 p.m.
Advance tickets are required and can be purchased online.
Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $6.50 for students and seniors (including H.S.T.) or free if you hold a membership to Glanmore.
Tickets include a self-guided tour of the historic house. For more information, call Glanmore National Historic Site at 613-962-2329 or visit: Glanmore.ca.
