Friday, June 5 is World Environment Day, wrapping up Canadian Environment Week.
Since 1971, Canadian Environment Week has been celebrating Canada’s environmental accomplishments and encourages Canadians to conserve and protect their environment.
World Environment Day is led by the United Nations Environment Programme and this year the focus of is a global call for climate action.
According to the Government of Canada website, this theme recognizes that addressing climate change is no longer just a moral obligation and that investing in a clean future is an economic imperative.
