Concern about the effects of a proposed housing development in Belleville’s east end is not going away.
Quinte Field Naturalists (QFN) feels the proposed Hanley Park North development will threaten vital wetlands, ancient forests and critical wildlife habitat of the Bell Creek Ecosystem irreplaceable.
The group says the Bell Creek Watershed is an incredible area filled with biodiversity, cleaning and filtering the water entering the Bay of Quinte.
If approved as presented, Hanley Park North would feature 103 residential units consisting of 74 single-family dwellings and 29 townhouses along with parks and walkways.
QFN is hosting a Town Hall Wednesday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Eastminster Church, 432 Bridge St East Belleville.
Residents are invited learn about the environmental impacts, and find out how you can help protect Belleville’s Natural Heritage.
The family friendly event will include face painting and activities for the children.
