Preserving natural habitats and heritage landscapes in Prince Edward County is the them of this year’s West Lake Community Association Environmental Symposium.
The event will be held September 26 at Isaiah Tubbs Resort from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The West Lake Community Association (WLCA) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 2020 in response to safety and environmental issues in the area.
The is the fifth annual symposium.
Presenters this year include Shannon Taylor, Chief Park Naturalist – Sandbanks Provincial Park, Daniel Butler, Invasive Species Technician – Quinte Conservation Authority, Lisa Browning, Education Coordinator – Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, Gabrielle Parent-Doliner, Director – Water Rangers, Graeme Smith, GIS Coordinator – Ontario Nature and the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
There will also be several exhibitor booths including ones hosted by the South Shore Joint Initiative, the Prince Edward and Quinte Field Naturalists and Ducks Unlimited Canada.
Admission is $30 for the general public and $25 for WLCA members.
The price includes morning refreshments and lunch catered by the resort.
The registration deadline August 31.
All attendees must be pre-registered as no walk-ins will be accepted on the day of the event.
